English for Cultural Literacy, Grade Ten, is the response of FNB Educational, Inc. to the innovative approach to English teaching and learning in the grade ten level. The ECL series revolves around the need to help the learners be aware of and demonstrate communicative competence in English through their knowledge of literature of various acclaimed authors from different part of the world, and interaction with different text types for a deeper appreciation of the global cultural diversity that we are all part of. In line with this aim, the varied lessons and activities used for classroom teaching to be included in the worktext should be aligned with the program, grade, content, and performance standards, as well as with the learning competencies set forth by the Department of Education in the K to 12 Curriculum Program Guide.
