English for Cultural Literacy, grade eight, is the response of FNB Educational, Inc. to the innovative approach to English teaching and learning in Junior High School. The ECL Series revolves around the need to help the learners aware of and demonstrate communicative competence in English through their knowledge of Afro-Asian culture. In line with these aims, the varied lessons and activities used for classroom teaching to be included in the worktext have been aligned with the program, grade, content, and performance standards, as well as with the learning competencies set forth by the Department of Education in the K to 12 basic education curriculum program guide.
