Abstract
This pre-feasibility study assessed the viability of implementing an integrated solid waste management system in the proposed Metro Dumaguete area. The study examined waste generation, collection, segregation, recycling, disposal practices, institutional arrangements, and inter-local government cooperation in addressing solid waste concerns. It evaluated possible strategies for sustainable waste management, resource recovery, environmental protection, and compliance with ecological waste management policies. The findings were intended to support planning and decision-making for a coordinated solid waste management program among local government units within the Metro Dumaguete area. The concept of a Metro Dumaguete solid waste management program was developed through inter-LGU collaboration among Dumaguete City and neighboring municipalities to promote resource sharing and sustainable waste management practices. :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}
