The goal of the first chapter is to make art relevant to you by starting with our humanity.What is art tome,who is an artist,how do l learn art? These are the questions we will try to answer. The second Chapter is devoted to the rediscovery and reconnection of our present lives withwhat has transpired in Philippine Art. You will be introduced to some important markers of our artisticachievements and how these have helped form the foundations of our national identity.Hopefully you willalso gain and develop your love for our beautiful country. In Chapter 3,you will learn the basic elements of music along with the purposes and value ofmusic in society.Some of you might be more familiar with the following lessons than others,but majorityof the concepts you are going to lear in Chapter 3 will be needed and utilized for Chapter 4. The titleof Chapter 3, "Prelude,"is actually a musical term which means an introductory piece to something ofgreater importance. Chapter 4,"Expositions: A Journey through Musical Time," is a survey of the historical eras ofmusic.You will be surveying and sampling a few representatives from each era, as early as the MiddleAges up to modern times.
