520 _aHigher education institutions are facing challenges, particularly when it comes to producing skills that do not meet the needs of the industry. Many graduates today cannot fill job openings due to a mismatch in job skills. Many of these skills, identified as lacking by businesses, are taught in the academe, including cognitive knowledge, soft skills, and hard skills. Fortunately, these skills can be strengthened through on-the-job training programs. The rationale for the preparation of this course book is to provide easily-accessible OJT instructional materials for student-trainees and OJT Coordinator. Because of the significance of the OJT program, it is critical to ensure that student-trainees undergoing internships are assigned skill-specific tasks and mentoring, with a focus on the development of clear objectives, clear expectations, and the establishment of methods of learning verification and effective monitoring. The course book aims to allow student-trainees to connect theory learned in the classroom with practice and experience gained in real-workplace environments. This outcomes-based education-framed course book is divided into four modules. The first module will give student-trainees a basic overview and orientation to the OJT fundamental concepts. The second module is all about OJT philosophy, policies, and processes. It describes the OJT procedure and outlines the roles and responsibilities of all parties involved in the OJT Program. The third module focuses on organizational structure and culture to prepare student-trainees for their OJT immersion in the Host Training Establishment, where they will work and complete their internship. Finally, the fourth module focuses on work instruction to assist student-trainees in completing their OJT tasks efficiently and precisely. The course book also includes an appendix. This section contains a variety of OJT forms to assist student-trainees in writing and completing various OJT forms, letters, and requirements. The authors' fervent hope is that student-trainees will benefit from their internship exposure due to this course book. May this course book exposed to work situations that will help them hone their skills and prepare them for their professional and future careers. -- Foreword
