In this project feasibility study, the researcher employed three methods to gather information needed such as interview with people who have the knowledge and expertise on banana tissue culture and banana production, use of secondary data which has been thoroughly analyzed and interpreted, and observation on the present condition of banana production particularly in the project site. This is the only organic banana farm to be established in Hilaitan, Guihulngan, Negros Oriental using 1,800 tissue-cultured lakatan plantlets in 10,000 square m The business shall be named "TCB (Tissue-Cultured Banana) Grower & Trader'" which shall be managed and partly owned by the researcher herself. Two parties shall contribute the required total capital of Php 386,395.00 exclusive of land. The findings of the study reveal that in terms of technical aspect the proposed business is feasible in the project site because it is strategically located in the sense that it has an access to farm to market road, availability of water for irigation, and soil fertility requirement is met. It has also adopted a way to lesser cost by using disease-free planting materials and organic fertilizers. In terms of management aspect, the proposed business manageable because there are enough skilled workers in the area and wages are affordable. The presence of a farm supervisor will ensure the over-all operation of the banana farm. The marketing aspect the proposed business is also feasible because there is an existing demand for the product both in the local and foreign markets. In addition. contract buyers have been contacted to buy the harvest from the farm supported by Buying Contract. For its financial aspect, the proposed business is also feasible because it is earning profit favorably as revealed in the financial analysis. In terms of its socio- economic aspect, the proposed business is socially desirable because it provides job opportunity and source of income for the people living nearby thus giving them the adequate purchasing power. Being an organic farrm it provides safe and quality product for the consumers. The farm will also serve as an avenue for traditional farmers to gain knowledge in advance banana farming. | ||
