"The case was focused on unravelling the significant experience of a person who experience a close encounter to death brought by a serious medical condition such as dengue and chronic kidney failure or motor vehicular accident. Following the qualitative study, focused interviews on the participants who experience close encounters with death, and Colaiza's method, the researcher was able to explore and gather data and developed five cluster themes. The themes hat were developed and generated from the study are: (1) Entrusting one's life to God, (2) Bargaining with God (Hopefulness/Helplessness), (3) Life perception (4) Sizing up the situation and (5) Heavenly Encounter. Close encounter to death is the occurence in which a person comes very close to dying and has memories of a spiritual experience (such as meeting dead friends and family members or seeing a white light) when death was near.
