"The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of gadget utilization and its impact on the physical fitness among adolescents, thus employs a descriptive-correlational type of study. The study was conducted among 101 students, aged between 15, 17 years. The gadget utilization in terms of a) browsing the internet, b) playing online and offline games, and c) using social media of the respondents was measured using a survey questionnaire. The data revealed that there is a moderate extent of use of gadgets on browsing the internet and playing games. However, different platforms of social media catered different results. Facebook gains a moderate extent of use. Instagram with a low extent and Twitter with a very low usage. for physical fitness assessment, a series of battery tests were done to attain data needed and an overall good performance was recorded. The results show that there is a strong significant relationship between the extent of use of gadgets of the respondents in terms of browsing the internet and playing games and their performance on the physical battery tests. A moderate significant relationship is noted between the gadget usage and social media utilization. These findings indicate that students with more gadget usage tend to have lower performance on the physical battery tests. A significant positive relationship is noted on both sexes, however, male respondents utilize the gadgets more often that the female respondents. A positive significant correlation between gadget usage and BMI was found."--Abstract
