Summary: "This book is designed primarily for senior high school students whoa re taking the academic strand accountancy, business, and management, (ABM). It was prepared in accordance with the curriculum requirements set by the Department of Education (DepEd) covering the specialized subject. Since the learner is introduced to a new technical field that needs full understanding and critical analysis, this material has adopted a procedural approach that is deemed fitting for the learner. Unlike book 1, however, which primarily focuses on the accounting procedures and principles adopted in the accounting cycle. Book 2 highlights the importance of the information generated from the field of accounting. The text is divided into three major units: Unit 1. discusses the principles in the preparation and presentation of financial statements, namely, statement of financial position, statement of comprehensive income, statement of changes in owner's equity, and statement of cash flows. Unit 2 introduces the traditional approaches in analyzing financial statements. Information contained in financial statements becomes meaningful only when it is critically evaluated and analyzed. Unit 3 presents introductory lessons on cash management, payroll accounting and taxation. This is a clear manifestation hat the business operation is practically covered not only by accounting but also by other specialized business fields such as management, finance, economics, human resources and taxation. A separate practice set has been carefully prepared for the learner to simulate the various accounting activities and documents in the real business environment." --Prreface
