ABSTRACT
The study aims to assess the feasibility of establishing a water supply system in Sitio Lapay,
Bayawan City, Negros Oriental because of inadequate access to safe and clean water by the
people in the area. People suffer water shortages and breakdowns especially during dry season
when water sources such as open wells, deep wells and collected rain water are unavailable for
consumption.
The survey was conducted to 167 selected household respondents in three purok of the sitio
namely Purok 1, Purok 2 and Purok 3 to answer the survey questions and interview
Significantly, the results concluded that the establishment of a water supply system in the area is
feasible in the five aspects of the study namely, the marketing, the management, the technical,
the financial and the socio-economic aspect.
The establishment of the project is feasible in its marketing and technical aspects because
based on survey result, 85% of the respondents are willing to patronize the other water supplier
in the area and it is found that the project has a sustainable water source that is clean, safe and
potable water to supply water in the operation.
In addition, the proponent of the project which is the existing cooperative in Sitio Lapay is
willing to fund the project as a business expansIon of the cooperative. It is as well feasible in its
