A graduate research study aimed to determine the level of the Grade 10 students' reading comprehension skills in relation to their academic performance result of which served as basis in the formulation of an action plan; reveals that majority of the Grade 10 students are female, the level of student's reading comprehension skills is assessed to be "satisfactory", students' academic performance based on their General Point Average (GPA) is barely passing, the level of students reading comprehension skills is significantly related to their academic performance, and student's profile in terms of sex is significantly related to their level of reading comprehension skills and academic performance, while age and years were found to be insignificant; concludes that the level of student's reading comprehension skills is a determining factor of their academic performance.
