"A qualitative study, specifically phenomenological, utilizing open-ended questions to explore the lived experiences of novice school heads. Data were collected through personal interviews while participants were gathered together at the District office on a weekend. The study involved 7 participants who were purposively chosen based on the following criteria: currently school head; with three-year or less experience; with appointment or designation as school principal/head teacher/teacher-in charge by the schools division superintendent; ages 24 to 60 years old; and are speakers of English, Tagalog, Cebuano. Colaizzi's method was used for data analysis, consisting seven steps. The study revealed three emergent themes to capture participants' lived experiences. First among the three is the obscurities of the endeavor which was brought about by the herculean episodes of the outset, lingering doubts and eneptness, work-time imbalance, enigmas on different personalities and linkage and instructional fuss. Second in the acclimatization of the processes which cover the participants' zealous personal convictions, commendable relational means with teachers, indispensable support from the supervisors and illustrious community abetment. Ang finally, the favorable results of their efforts like, learning and helping stakeholders, setting a good examples, radiating inspiration with colleagues, and realizing their own personal and professional growth. This study revealed that the participants remained motivated and optimistic and hardworking for their noble calling of affecting the lives of all who work each learner in the rural schools amidst all difficulties. The position has brought high level of morale to the participants' chosen career, and pride not only for themselves but for their respective families and friends." --Abstract
