This publication presents the Council's accomplishments for 2023. This year, 47 out of 48 priorities indicated in the Harmonized National Research and Development Agenda (HNRDA) for the agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources (AANR) sector were addressed. A total of 709 projects were funded under the DOST and PCAARRD Grants-in-Aid (GIA)Program. Moreover, 1,073 projects were monitored, which include ongoing projects approved for renewal, projects approved for extension, and completed projects that have not yet submitted terminal and financial reports as of the end of 2023. During the year, 173 local and international partner agencies were established and/or maintained. From the 151 completed research and development (R&D) projects, 142 were reported by the implementers/researchers to have either been presented in various symposia, filed Intellectual Property (IP) protection, and/or published information, education, and communication (IEC) materials during the year.
This issue of PCAARRD Monitor highlights the Council’s capability-building and R&D governance initiatives nationwide. It covers capacity-building efforts with international partners, regional consortia programs, and efforts to strengthen R&D networks through academic and technological support, innovation, entrepreneurship, gender development, and policy recommendations.
