Abstract, Summary, etc. | Practical Skills in the 21s Century, Barista, is a worktext designed for Senior HighSchool students to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitude required to perform the taskson Bar and Beverage Services. This course hopes to equip those who aspire to becomebaristas and/or bar attendants.<br/>The contents of thisbook adhere to the K-to-12 Basic Education CurriculumGuide on Technical-Vocational-Livelihood Track (Home Economics) prescribed bythe Department of Education.It covers the following core and elective competencies:(1)cleaning bar areas; (2) preparing espresso and espresso-based beverages; (3) texturingmilk; and (4) providing basic coffee beverage services. The preliminaries of thisspecialization course include the following:(1) core concepts in the coffee industry;and(2) relevance of the course.<br/>Upon finishing this course,the learner may merit the National Certificate Level II(NC II) upon passing the TESDA Qualification Standard Certificate Level (NC II) inBarista.<br/>Through this course, it is hoped that the learner will be able to obtain the knowledge,skills, and attitude of the course; and if successful enough, gain profitable employmentwithin the tourism industry. |
