Abstract, Summary, etc. Publié à l'occasion de l'exposition présentée du 16 avril au 28 août 2011 au Musée d'Art moderne et contemporain de Strasbourg. Depuis les années 1990, Franck Scurti (1965) s'est imposé comme l'un des artistes les plus prolifiques de sa génération. Enfant du rock, de la télé et de la street culture, son oeuvre se présente comme une entreprise d'auscultation de l'époque contemporaine : les enjeux géopolitiques, l'économie de masse, la société de consommation, les média tels sont les thèmes de prédilection de son travail qui convoque indifféremment, et sans hiérarchie de genre, dessin, vidéo, sculpture ou installation. L'exposition dont le présent catalogue rend compte, mêlant rétrospective et oeuvres inédites, jouant de constants changements d'échelle, propose un parcours aléatoire entre géopolitique, géographie et univers quotidien, esquissant une sorte d'histoire personnelle et chaotique de l'humanité. Bilingue français-anglais.
