Abstract ABSTRACT<br/>This study analyses the internal and external factors affecting university student's<br/>intention on choosing to be entrepreneurs. With the high rate of unemployment in the<br/>Philippines, understanding what drives a student to become an entrepreneur is crucial.<br/>This study examines various variables that contribute to entrepreneurship intention of<br/>university students. In the survey questionnaire, students are asked to indicate their level<br/>of agreement with the statements using a 5-point Likert scale. There were 392 students<br/>surveyed from Foundation University, Silliman University, Saint Paul University<br/>Dumaguete, and Negros 0riental State University. The study showed that entrepreneurial<br/>education is a strong internal factor in strengthening intention while family support is a<br/>necessary external factor that can influence entrepreneurial intention. A regression was<br/>then executed to determine whether there are significant relationships between the<br/>internal and external factors toward entrepreneurial intention. The study will help policy<br/>makers, academic institution, and teachers, among others understand the behavior of<br/>students so as to create and implement favorable policies, curriculum initiation and module<br/>implementation to encourage entrepreneurial activities within the rural and urban areas in<br/>the country.
