Abstract, Summary, etc. A study aims to determine the extent of utilization of teaching strategies in spelling in relation to pupils English performance; reveals that the 'teachers' extent of utilization of strategies in teaching spelling is high as perceived by both teacher respondents and their pupils; the Grade IV and V pupils' overall academic performance in English is in the approaching proficiency level; the teachers' age, number of teaching experience and the Baccalaureate degree has a great influence on the pupils performance in English.
