"The study focused on the habitat preference, and conservation status of the family Orchidaceae. The research framework fieldwork was carried out in a few forest area in the Energy Development Corporation (EDC) Geothermal Reserve, which can be found in Barangay Puhagan, Valencia, Negros Oriental. From October To November 2022, fieldwork sampling took place twice a month over two days. A total of 53 species of orchids from 35 genera were discovered, with 24 f them being epiphytic., 26 of them terrestrial, and 3 of them lithophytes. The majority of the orchid species (25), of which can be found only in Visayas, were endemic yo the Philippines. Aong the 15 species, 13 identified orchid species from the Visayas can be found in Negros Island. It was found that 50 orchids had not been evaluated when the conservation status was checked using the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species and the DENR Adminstrative Order 2017 Update National List of Threatened Plants and their Categories. Also, it was discovered that Amesiella monticola was placed under the CRITICALLY ENDANGERED category of species, ahile Paphiopedilum acmodontum was an ENDANGERED species. --Abstract
