Dissertation note: Summary: Abstract This study aimed to determine the level of effectiveness of alternative dispute resolution insettling agrarian disputes in Tanjay City,Negros Oriental. The researcher utilizedquantitative specifically a descriptive type.There were 120 respondents involved in thisstudy.They consisted of 67 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs),9 registered tenants,16landowners,and 28 farmers/farmworkers involved in mediation.A simple random samplingwas utilized by the researcher.The researcher used validated self-made questionnaires,quantitative method approach,the items were tested for their reliability using Cronbach'salpha test,Cronbach's alpha coefficient measures the internal consistency, or reliability, of aset of survey items,percent,weighted mean and triangulation.The study revealed that thelevel of effectiveness of the alternative dispute resolution in settling agrarian disputes wasvery high due to the following factors:(a) In terms of technical expertise and knowledge ofthe mediator,the mediator is skilled at helping to facilitate communication between theparties;(b) In terms of timeliness and orderliness of the mediator,ADR process was initiatedpromptly after the dispute was identified;(c)In terms of fairness and impartiality of themediator,the mediator is neutral and impartial in facilitating the resolution process;(d) Interms of delivery of communication and responsiveness of the mediator, the mediatorcommunicates wth clients in a respectful and professional manner; and (e) In terms ofclarity and comprehensiveness of the mediator,the language utilized in the ADR process wasclear and easily understandable.
