This textbook is designed for Filipino students taking up an undergraduate course in economics, whether under social sciences or business and management program. It is titled Managerial Economics in the 21st Century to highlight that the textbook involves contemporary issues related to the study of the subject matter.
Various media have reported that economics has been a common topic among Filipinos, especially among the youth, who perceive such topic as a very important issue. However, researches explained that our fellowmen do not have sufficient understanding on the state of our economy. This motivated the author to create a resource that shall augment this awareness among our fellow Filipinos and hopefully aid them in taking a more involved participation in discussions, decisions, and actions toward a better economy.
