PREFACE
Writing has been my life-long passion, one that | can say is thne
only job I know. But, when I was given the assignment to write
the life story of Foundation University's President Emeritus. Dr
Edelmira "Mira" Fe Dragon Sinco, I had ambivalent thoughts
For one, how do I give justice to Ma'am Mira's distinctive
and her avwesome
impressive journey? Can I breathe life to
persona? Will | be able to approximate her remarkable
achievements vis-à-vis my descriptive narrative?
As these thoughts raced in my mind, I likewise wanted to
know more than just skin-deep about the celebrated Ma'am
Mira, as she is popularly known, who T had met many years
ago as a journalist covering events at Foundation University.
Fast forward to today., as fate would reckon, | have joined
Foundation University and here | am, able to get up close and
personal with Ma'am Mira.
This biography is more than just a chronicle of her
achievements, but a testament of her inspired leadership.
Indeed, education has the power to change lives. A broader
implication of her work is the takeaway that higher education
today requires leaders who are not only knowledgeable, but
also compassionate and innovative. The book also offers
invaluable insights for educators, students, and anyone
