Summary: The exhibition Carlos Amorales: Axioms for Action is conceived as a script and a list of works such that each institution and curator who presents it can stage and execute it differently. In this way, each venue will present an interpretation of the matrix of Amorales's work, as well as a compendium of his oeuvre. This first exhibition drawn from this project, presented at the MUAC, includes a group of works that have not yet been seen in Mexico. It aims to make evident both the flexibility of the script and the possibility of taking up the Axioms for Action within a specific and imaginative curatorial project in which the architecture of the museum is interpreted in tension with the space of Amoralesœs studio in Mexico City. By the same token, the show also emphasizes the pairing of film and installation.
