Bermillo Foundation University, 2009 The study was conducted to evaluate the growth and yield performance of petchay as affected by the diferent application rates of organic fertilizer. The experiments aimed to find out the effects of different application rates of organic fertilizer on different commercial Petchay varieties. Factor A, the commercial varieties, represented three treatments: Al (East-West Variety), A2 (Kaneko Variety), A3 (Ramgo Variety), and Factor B was the application of different rates of organic fertilizer which were represented with four treatments: B1 (Recommended Rate), B2 (Recommended Rate plus 5 tons Organic), B3 (Recommended Rate plus 10 tons Organic) B4 (Recommended rate plus 15 tons Onganic). The result of the study shows that plant height, number of leaves, leaf length and yield per hectare were highly afected by the different rates of organic fertilizer application while leaf width failed to show a significant difference with respect to the application of different rates of organic fertilizer. The result shows that using Kaneko Variety applied with the different level of organic fertilizer gives the highest yield of 23,819,46 kg/ha and the lowest yield was observed in East-West Variety of 20,625.003 kg/ha. Furthermore, the application of inorganic fertilizer (RR) with 10 tons/ha of chicken manure gave the highest yield regardless of variety used and the lowest yield was observed in treatment l or application of inorganic fertilizer alone. On the other hand, highest ROI was observed in Ramgo Variety regardless of rates of fertilizer and application of inorganic fertilizer alone also exhibits the highest ROI.
