Dissertation note: Summary: ABSTRACT This study was made to determine the feasibility of establishing San Antonio Mountain Resort in San Antonio, Sibulan, Negros Oriental based on the following areas of concern of business: management aspects, marketing aspects, technical aspects, and financial aspects. In gathering essential data, the researchers used the historical and descriptive-evaluative approach. 399 survey questionnaires were distributed in Dumaguete City, Valencia, Sibulan and Bacong. Stratification based on the total population of the four towns and city was made in order to get the representative sample. The distribution of the questionnaires was made in public areas and school zones. Review of relevant facts like census, maps, laws, books, and other research articles were also made. The data collected were then arranged and analyzed in order to draw useful information from it. Based on the findings of the study, the researchers made the following conclusions on the feasibility of the proposed business: (1) on the management aspect, the project is feasible because it will be managed as a proprietary organization, and sufficient number of qualified employees is available in the labor market; (2) on the marketability of the proposed project, it was determined to be highly marketable because of the high demand for resort services in the area, while there is only limited supply of the demanded services; (3) on the technical aspect, sufficient amount of resources are readily available in the market in order for the business to start and support its continued operations; (4) on the financial aspects of the project, it was determined to be feasible as indicated by its good financial ratios, and a payback period of 10.62 years which falls just within the average payback period in the Philippines and an IRR of 9.42 is higher than the Cost of Capital of 8.75%; (5) on the socio-economic impact of the proposed business, it was determined to be highly beneficial to the people because it will provide new job opportunities for them, and it will also contribute to the growth and development of eco-tourism industry in the municipality of Sibulan, Negros Oriental.
