FOREWORD
It is with great pleasure, genuine pride and gratitude that we present the Third Volume of
the Foundation University Law Journal. As the Editor-in-Chief who had previously served as
the President of the Law Student Council and Bar Operations- I have had the pleasure of
witnessing firsthand struggles and quiet victories that shaped a law student's journey in the
university. This considering that the majority of the members of the law student body of
Foundation University is composed of working students.
This volume had brought together the work of Senior Juris Doctor students and new minted
lawyers of 2025- who had lived the demands of the legal education and the experience that
the Bar Examinations had brought to them.Through their legal articles and personal
testimonies, they offer more than academic writing- they share insight, reflection, and lived
experience. Each contribution carries both intellectual depth and the human side of
becoming a lawyer.
Having worked closely with students during Bar Operations, I have seen how much effort
and heart goes into this path. This journal is, in many ways, a continuation of that journey- a
space where experiences are not only recorded but shared, so others may learn from them.
More than a collection of writings, this Volume is a reminder that the law is learned not only
in classrooms and books, but also in lived experience, persistence, and community. It is our
hope that these pages will encourage readers to reflect, to think critically, and to keep
moving forward even when the path feels difficult and bumpy.
On behalf of the editorial board, I extend my sincere gratitude to our contributors, faculty
advisers, the Dean, and our ever-supportive office staff, along with everyone who plaved a
in bringing this publication to life. This journal is a product of your hard work, trust.
and shared commitment.
May Volume III of the Foundation University Law Journal serves as both a record of
achievement and a reminder that every lawyer's story begins long before the oath is taken,
and that no one reaches it alone-it takes a community to help shape and support that
journey.
