"Aimed to account the species composition of migratory waterbirds, their current conservation status and the possible influence of weather parameters specifically air temperature, relative humidity and wind velocity on the species composition in the artificial wetlands of Polo, Tanjay and Maslog, Sibulan, Negros Oriental. Photo documentation of the migrant waterbirds were done in Tanjay from August to December 2022 and in Sibulan from September to November 2022 by hired professional bird photographers. A total of identified and verifiede 34 different species migratory birds were photo documented from the two study areas with Polo, Tanjay showing the highest number of 32 species (94%) and Maslog, Sibulan with 18 (53%). Fifteen (44%) migrant waterbirds were photo documented in both Tanjay and Sibulan artificial wetlands. The big difference in the species composition between Tanjay and Sibulan might be due to the following reasons: Polo, Tanjay artificial wetland is larger than the area size than Maslog, Sibulan; degree of disturbance in Polo, Tanjay is moderately less compared to Maslog, Sibulan currently undergoing reclamation for a housing subdivision; and more sampling periods in Polo, Tanjay (August-December 2022) than in Maslog, Sibulan (September-November 2022). ..
