Internet of Things (IoT) devices has been making people's daily lives easier through doing tasks assigned to them, no matter what kind. Automation is one of the commonly used concepts of these IoT devices to get things done faster and easier, with the right kind of devices and tools this can be easily done. The researchers will do this concept for automatically shutting down devices that are not in use and for alarming fire outbreaks, for the purpose of power conservation and disaster control. This feature will be integrated into Foundation University's Smart Classroom Project. The system will automatically turn off the lights and appliances whenever there's no more people detected inside a room with the use of PIR sensors and will also alarm people of potential fire outbreaks using smoke detectors. The researchers will focus on integrating the feature into the Smart Classroom System, retrieving data from the sensors and performing the power management and disaster control tasks.
