"This paper attempts to investigate the perception of 231 students from Abundio Agarpao Sr. Memorial High School towards English instruction on MDL and its effect of the ;earners' academic motivation. The researcher utilized the descriptive-correlational method; used validated questionnaire; and employed weighted mean, Spearman rank correlation coefficient, and Mann-Whitney U Test. Base on the statistical analysis, the findings revealed that there is generally a Very High students' perception of English instruction as regards MDL. Similarly, a very high extent of academic motivation was recorded. Moreover a significant an strong relationship between the student's perceptions towards MDL and academic motivation was recorded. Family income was found to influence the student's perception towards MDL but did not affect their academic motivation. It recommends that using various motivational strategies to increase students' interest and engagement as well as improve educational policies to accommodate the issues experienced by constituents from low-income households." --Abstract
