The study aimed to identify challenges faced and strategies utilized by junior high school physical education teachers in Schools Division of Tanjay City, when teaching skill-based competencies- physical fitness, sports, dance, and first aid, during hybrid learning amid man-made disruptions and natural calamities. The researcher utilized the descriptive-correlational survey design. The study surveyed a census of 46 public junior high school physical education teachers from the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Tanjay City. The researcher utilized a survey questionnaire, validated by experts. The analysis involved means for challenge and strategy extents, Chi-square tests for profile relationships, and Spearman rank correlation for competency- challenge and strategy links in treating the data. This study revealed that the following skill-based abilities present significant problems during hybrid learning: first aid (high, with substantial links to strategies); dance (uniform across execution and theory); sports (officiating, skill execution); and physical fitness (e.g., choosing fitness assessments). It also presented that, strategies (e.g., collaborative challenges, live exercises) provide a moderate amount of real-time but a high utilization of self- directed learning to deliver lessons due to both instructional and technological difficulties.
