Abstract, Summary, etc. "Aimed to determine the relationship between students' science-related factors affecting their attitudes towards science and their academic performance. The respondents were the Grade 10 students from the four junior high schools in Sta. Catalina District II utilizing the descriptive-correlative survey method. The questionnaire served as the main gathering instrument. The students' academic performance was assessed based on the science-related factors affecting their attitudes such as social implications, learning interests, teachers' personal attributes teachers; professional competence, availability of apparatuses and school resources. Moreover, students' science-related attitudes measured based on factors such as sex, socio-economic status, and parents' educational attainment. The statistical tools used in the study were percentage, mean, weighted mean, Spearman rank correlation coefficient, and Point-Biserial Correlation. Results revealed that students had "moderate" science-related attitudes. Also, a significant relationship was found between the profile of the students and their science-related attitudes in terms of socio-economic status and parents' educational attainment, while sex was found insignificant. Furthermore, a significant relationship was found between the students' science-related attitudes and their performance in science." --Abstract
