Dissertation note: Summary: Aimed to determine the effectiveness of the different vocabulary building strategies in teaching English using descriptive and experimental methods. It utilized validated instrument and was analyzed using standard deviation, mean, and t-test. It was revealed that there was an increased students' performance after being involved in the activities using different vocabulary building strategies and was also found that vocabulary notebooks/journals, keyword method, scavenger hunt, and the same word, different subject are far more effective than the other vocabulary building strategies.
