Dissertation note: Summary: This study aims to determine the gap in learning patterns and algebra among the Junior High School students during the pandemic with the 112 grade 8, 108 Grade 9, and 110 Grade 10 learners respondents of Dumaguete City National High School, and they were chosen using the systematic sampling technique. The study utilized descriptive design, wherein weighted mean and percentage were used as the statistical tools. Based on the findings, the conclusions were generated: (a) the grade 8 students' level of learning in Patterns and Algebra 7 is either "good" or "above average"; (b) the grade 9 students level of learning in Patterns and Algebra 8 is generally "good"; and (c) the grade 10 students' level of learning in Patterns and Algebra 9 is generally "above average". On the other hand, (a) gaps in learning patterns and algebra 8 occur when students fail to master polynomial operations, algebraic expressions or equations, and linear equations and inequalities; (b) gaps in learning Patterns and Algebra 9 happens when students fail to comprehend the important concepts of relation and function, systems of linear equations in two variables, domain and range of a function, and linear functions; and (c) gaps in learning Patterns and Algebra 10 transpire when students fail to master important concept =s on quadratic equations and inequalities, quadratic functions and their graphs, laws of exponents, and radical expressions or equations." -- Abstract
