Summary: "Youth fitness has steadily declines over the past decade and childhood obesity is at an all-time high. Our younger generations are facing a severe and growing health crisis as they move away from physical activity and towards anything with a screen. Computers, televisions and electric game screens have captivated our youth and fast food become a staple in their diet. Vending machines and school lunches are calorie packed, and with tight education budgets, some school districts throughout Ohio have cut physical education and health classes. These and many other factors have decreased the health and fitness of our youth. Physical activity as a preventive measure is widely recognized as central to effective management of overweight and obesity problems, and for children it is seen as an important factor in reducing the risk of chronic disease in adulthood. Consequently, children and adolescents are a target population for the promotion of PA to enhance health. A critical consideration of children, adolescents, parents, professionals, and scientists is the implementation and adherence to PA guideline for health. This book contains seven chapters. It will help you launch a rewarding career building and teaching successful fitness programs that meet the challenging health demands of growing children." --Provided by the Publisher
