Beginning as the California Journal of Teacher Education in 1972, Teacher Education Quarterly (the title since 1983) is a peer-reviewed (double blind) journal dedicated to advancing knowledge and research by teacher education researchers and practitioners. The journal is sponsored by the California Council on Teacher Education (established 1945) and is part of the organization’s overarching goal to improve the pre- and in-service education of teachers.
We seek manuscripts that link research to practice, with an eye toward improving pre-service and in-service teacher education. Preference is given to well-designed empirical studies whose conclusions broadly inform teacher professional development, although we are also interested in publishing outstanding policy analyses. Please note that we rarely publish “best practice” papers or program evaluations. The journal generally publishes 10-20% of all submissions; its h5-index rating is currently at 18 (h5-median 28).
If you are interested in submitting a manuscript, please see our “For Authors” page. We are always seeking additional reviewers for the journal. Please register by clicking here or paste “https://www.teqjournal.org/ojs/index.php/TEQ/user/register” directly into your browser address window. A list of our outstanding reviewers can be found here.
