Attempts to determine the science teacher's level of instruction proficiency and its relationship to the grades 6 pupils' performance in science in the national achievement test (NAT) using descriptive method, reveals that majority of grade 6 science teachers are relatively young,female, baccalaureate degree holder with 1-5 years teaching experience in science and have attended seminars in the district level only with the result of pupils' performance in the NAT below 75%.
