Abstract Abstract<br/>This study sought to assess the implementation of monitoring and evaluation<br/>(M&E) to track the effectiveness and sustainability of the Department of Education<br/>(DepEd) programs and projects. The researcher employed a descriptive-correlational<br/>research design. Survey questionnaires were distributed to all school heads and<br/>selected teachers from a sample of 25 public schools in Dumaguete City. The statistical<br/>tools used in this study included the mean, Pearson Product-Moment Correlation<br/>Coefficient, and the t-test. The study revealed that the extent of M&E implementation<br/>was perceived as "very high" by both school heads and teachers across all dimensions<br/>considered. Moreover, the effectiveness and sustainability of DepEd programs and<br/>projects were assessed by both school heads and teachers to a "very high" extent.<br/>Additionally, the results indicated a statistically significant relationship between the<br/>implementation of M&E and its perceived effectiveness within the School Governance<br/>and Operations Division (SGOD). Furthermore, there was a statistically significant<br/>difference between the assessments of the two respondent groups regarding the<br/>extent of M&E implementation throughout the division. Lastly, the results of the study<br/>revealed a significant difference in how school heads and teachers perceive the<br/>effectiveness of M&E activities. While both groups share similar perspectives on the<br/>effectiveness of these activities under the SGOD, they express these views with<br/>varying degrees of magnitude.<br/>Keywords: DepEd programs, effectiveness, M&E, monitoring, evaluation, school heads,<br/>teachers
